She is nature

At the most basic level, she is nature.

The textures and forms of the natural world appeal directly to the deepest aspects of her consciousness. She is a part of life on this planet.

Her senses, mind, and body have developed in rhythm with the natural world; she is from the land of the midnight sun. She constantly needs primary contact with nature to feel serene. This is also for her optimal health and well-being.

Her roots are formed in the Yukon on an emotional level as a sense of peace, curiosity, and love. Lasting memories have been formed during her time in the mountains and are always in the back of her mind.

Sarah

I had such a fun time with these photos. Sarah is such an amazing human and so great to work with! I really enjoyed shooting something different and getting out of my comfort zone, indoor photoshoot!
I am so grateful I get to make these beautiful human connections through photography.

About LOVE

What is LOVE?
What is it to be loved?
What is it to love?
A feeling, a sensation, a vibration...
When I sit and let the brightness of my inside live within all my body cells,
When I listen the silence in me,
When I breathe in the here and now,
I know that love is just there.
No need to look for it. It is in my reality of the moment.

A sun ray caught in river streams

Written by: Megan Broad-foot

To the highest arch in the sky, I raise my eyes that you might see me.
A sun ray caught in river streams like sunken skipping stones.
How far is your reach, so I can know how to fit the deepest joys in the smallest parts of my soul.
To let them spill out all around me.
Into the river bed into the desert sand and springing up a garden of light.

This is one of my favourite people in the entire world. This is my sister Kawina. This photoshoot was as magical as she is.

Be you

•Do things that bring you joy.

•Laugh hysterically until it hurts

•Climb a tree

•Spontaneously break out into song/dance

•Roll down a hill

•Just be silly.

•Make laughter a habit
Did you know that laughter actually causes physiological responses that protect the body from disease and help your vital organs repair themselves? A good laugh can be compared to a mild workout, as it exercises the muscles, gets the blood flowing, decreases blood pressure and stress hormones, improves sleep patterns and boosts the immune system.

Do what you like & like what you do.

The moon

The moon affects the Earth in many physical ways. The most meaningful, it’s gravitational pull, which varies depending on the distance between the Earth and Moon, helps to create our ocean’s tide. The human body is about 75 percent water, and so I often ask myself whether tides are at work inside us.

The moon's cycle can affect the way I feel about things. In particular, when the moon is full or new, I can experience dramatic changes in my mood and behavior.

When the moon is full, it is a time when I notice myself and others having lots of energy. Since the full moon pours down a tremendous amount of energy, I have to learn to channel that energy. If I am in a calm state of mind I can receive it to a positive effect. But if I am already stressed, stress can be a major factor and I become more sensitive to details.

In the last few months this woman has made me reflect more on the moon and its effects. Sometimes when I share with her how I feel she will mention the moon cycle and everything will make so much more sense to me. Love you Chlo.

Kathleen&Dorothy

I must have taken ten billion photos of my little sister Dorothy, she is so adorable. It is always so hard to choose which photos are the best because even if the photo is blurry I know she’s in the photo somewhere.

I am so grateful to have her and her mom in my life. Grateful to spend time with them both when life allows it. And once in awhile I get to capture beautiful memories of them. So much love for these two.

These photos were taken back in February but I never got a chance to share them with you.

Love

I got to capture their love, with a beautiful sunset, and my goodness my heart is so grateful.

Grâce aux femmes comme toi

Written by: Michaëla St-Pierre

There are a few particularly exceptional women on this earth,

Those who make you believe in all the good in the world and in yourself;

Those who love you like a daughter, despite the lack of actual blood tie;

Those who welcome you into their heart and home without hesitation,

            And who make you feel special simply by being seen through her eyes.

They are the women who hold themselves with grace, humour, and honour, no matter how rainy the day;

They are the women who have taught me to be independent, to love, and be loved;

They are the women who inspire me to grow into my skin with the same peace, understanding, and wisdom as they carry themselves with.

This is the woman who first opened my eyes to this virtuous embodiment of womanhood;

This is the woman who inspires me to create a luscious, adventurous, colourful life.

France – this planet is a better place grâce aux femmes comme toi

I am currently a graphic design student. This project was made for school, here is part of it.

It describes how my design interconnects with nature and the environment around me. To live to my fullest potential I strive to find our connection to Mother Nature's elements: air, fire, water, earth.

Air is the manifestation of movement, communication and intelligence. This element transports information from all dimensions. it provides a listening ability to Mother Nature, which in turn enables her to communicate with cleanness, frankness and straightforwardness. the details that Air carries to her consciousness guide her to be attentive.

Soil gives Mother Nature the possibilities to create and to make life grow. She gives birth to new ideas and she renews the old with fresh concepts. She is fertile and grounded. Her roots are solid as a rock, you can count on her.

Mother Nature uses the power of fire to warm up the energy around her. This allows her to transmute the material world and to give life to new shapes. Her fire designs the environment in a beautiful and sometimes unexpected way.

Let it be.

A few summers back, I lived in nature. I walked bare feet, listened to earthy music, and wore flowers in my hair. There are times when I would be driving and would deliberately stop all my plans to pick up a beautiful flower on the street side and place it in my hair. Of course, hours later, I would find the flower limply and dying in my hair tie.

I once read a great quote, from Osho, that goes something like this, “If you love a flower, don’t pick it up. Because if you pick it up, it dies and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower, let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about appreciation.” I have learned to appreciate these flowers for their life, their smell, and their beauty.

I have learned something else. I have learned that this metaphor can be used as a symbol that if I love a person, I must let them express and explore their lives to the fullest, without interfering in a way that I would find beneficial for myself. I have learned to love this person for what they are. Even if some of their petals are broken, then I must learn to truly appreciate the flower’s existence and its ability to still, despite being broken, being able to smell good to those who can appreciate it.

Release control. Let it be.

Stéphanie

16 years ago, my 5-year-old self tapped this girl on the shoulder and asked her if she wanted to be my friend...

Some people come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime… this one is here for a lifetime. She believes in me more than I believe in myself, listens to me, answers honestly and makes me grow as a person.

This women is amazing. She is a dance teacher, yoga teacher, future psychologist, thinker, environmentalist, feminist, traveller, artist, health-enthusiast, athlete, comedian, and philanthropist.

These images were taken purely for fun, with so much curiosity exploring while enjoying my new camera, I think it’s important to do that every once in awhile.

Rock Climbing

First post!

I recently came back from a rock climbing trip for some much needed adventure and exploring. To me climbing is a challenge against myself. A place where I discover my boundaries and work through them. It makes me realize just how much power my mind has over what I can do. It also reminds me how fragile life is. Rock climbing is being outdoors, surrounded by nature, and taking in all it has to offer.

I chalk up, pull onto the wall and everything else in my head goes away. It's a moving meditation, nothing else makes me feel as present.

Here are a few photos from the trip in Leavenworth, WA and Squamish, BC.

Enjoy life!
